A Not So Baby Nursery
I'm so excited to share my completed nursery! Our bambino is scheduled to arrive early next week, but we're hoping he comes sooner.
When I set out to design this room, I had big plans. I envisioned painting the floors and walls, installing a bit of wall mounted shelving, and even hanging fabric from the ceiling. BUT...there was a teeny tiny wrench in my plans.
We decided to put our house up for sale. Making all of those changes didn't seem so appealing anymore. Especially not to my husband.
Here is a before photo of the room as the realtor took it.
And here is the newly finished nursery.
After much thought and deliberation, we ended up loving and leaving the color on the walls and the floor. A trip to IKEA sealed the deal. The dresser, window panels, crib, rug and blanket were all purchased in one day. We love the feel of the modern print and colors.
It took some serious searching to find an appropriately sized upholstered rocker. We were thrilled when we found this at a local furniture shop. It was pink and green in the store, so the fact that the color came out perfectly is really just a stroke of good luck!
The light and piggy bank are both from my favorite, Home Goods. White lamps add serious style and sophistication to any room. What baby wouldn't love that?
We love the whimsy of the prints and the baby mobile. I found the inspiration for the prints on Pinterest. I wasn't crazy about the price ($40.00 for each print is a tad out of my budget), so using Word and purchasing $20.00 frames from Target, I made my own. I love the way they turned out!
The baby mobile came from Etsy!
The Cube cannot be underestimated. Organization and style at a reasonable price? Sign me up!
The gang's all here and waiting for the man of the hour!!
I know I'm happy with the decor, but I'm curious to find out how functional the room is. Living in a small space means we need to maximize every inch for functionality. Based on the amount of baby materials we have already accumulated pre-birth, I am anticipating a need for creative and stylish storage. I'll keep my eyes peeled!!

Fummer (Fall/Summer)
I love summer and sun dresses more than anyone I know.
But, today's 70 degree weather felt easy and breezy, like a Sunday Morning.
My jeans, dress, and sweater combination are my numero uno in the comfort department.
Perfect for a lazy summer Friday night.

Easy Peezy Lemon Squeezy
I wore this little dress to church on Sunday. I was showered, dressed, and out the door in 25 minutes. That's about as quick as it gets around here folks.

I Scream You Scream We all Scream!
The last thing my expanding waistline needs is smooth, flavorful, and rich ice cream made from a 12% milk and cream mixture.
Unfortunately, my soul does in fact need it, and put up a really strong argument in favor of the stuff.
So, my soul and I convinced my sweets that we needed a summer mini-date night and headed out to enjoy a marvelous sunset drive in search of the perfect cone.
We found this little gem in Richfield, Ohio. Well worth the scenic drive through the winding roads of the valley! Is there a better way to spend an evening than blasting your favorite songs on your iPod, windows down, with your love, in the summer? Not for this little lady.
Of course, I couldn't choose between the freshest Melt-in-Your-Mouth Banana and the creamy Wish-I-Had-a-Bucket-of-It Butter Pecan. So, as is my tradition with shopping, I had both! One scoop of each please! Pure genious, I know. I could tell the 16 year old kid felt the same as I shouted my bright idea to her across the counter.
And, just in case you're wondering. I'm wearing the $1.00 dress I purchased at the Salvation Army last summer. It made me feel very Mad Men.
Now, if I only had a '57 Chevy.
A girl can dream.
Sigh.

Recipe for Success
Scarves are the easiest way to add color and fun to your look. The best part is, you can find them at vintage stores for literally pennies. Grandmas everywhere are regretting their donations as I speak!
Scarf: Thrifted, Dress: TJ Maxx (really old), Sandals: Target
Can we all agree that a girl can't go wrong with polka dots? And a maxi dress? And black?
Master of the basics.

I'm not the only one with some style in this 2 man show.
Simple and chic in his relaxed jeans, pastel blue shirt, and boat shoes.
Love it.

Eight Trends and Counting
I never thought I would say this, but I think I went a little over board with the trendiness on Saturday.
Let's count, shall we?
1. Leopard
2. Scarf
3. Jean Vest
4. Canvas Bag
5. Neon Green T
6. Maxi
7. Arm Candy
8. Braid in the hair
Surely I'm breaking some fashion journalist's #1 rule at Cosmo.
The poster child for rocking too much at once.
In my defense, it was 6 am on a Saturday when I put this little diddy together. I had been in public for a full 2 hours before I looked in the mirror. Really looked. That's when I took my scarf off. And my bracelets. And my...jk. That's it.
Removing just two items really brought me back.
Its a thin line people.
A very thin line.
And I walk it.

Spring Break 2012
I looked like a walking Easter egg yesterday.
In other news....
We're off for a little spring break in Arizona!
Looking forward to some sunshine and sightseeing!
