Eight Trends and Counting

I never thought I would say this, but I think I went a little over board with the trendiness on Saturday.

Let's count, shall we?

1. Leopard
2. Scarf
3. Jean Vest
4. Canvas Bag
5. Neon Green T
6. Maxi
7. Arm Candy
8. Braid in the hair

Surely I'm breaking some fashion journalist's #1 rule at Cosmo.

The poster child for rocking too much at once.

In my defense, it was 6 am on a Saturday when I put this little diddy together. I had been in public for a full 2 hours before I looked in the mirror. Really looked. That's when I took my scarf off. And my bracelets. And my...jk. That's it.
Removing just two items really brought me back.
Its a thin line people.
A very thin line.
And I walk it.

The 5 P's

John and I had never been on a passenger train and he didn't feel like watching me sleep for 4 hours we were not looking forward to the long drive from Scottsdale to the Grand Canyon.

Soooo, we booked a first class ticket, quite literally, on the Grand Canyon Railway.

The drive to Williams was sunny, hot, and stunning.

And that's the last time I was warm for the next 10 hours.

We arrived at the train station with nothing more than shorts and t-shirts, only to see our comrades dressed in winter gear.

Enter the 5 P's.

Prior Preparation Prevents Poor Performance

And that's all I'll say about that.

We tried to make the best of it and looked forward to buying warm souvenirs.

It was about 50 degrees and windy here, though we put on a brave face for the photo op.

Shortly after we took in this incredible view, we scurried to the closest shop to purchase our windbreakers.

Then we spent the next two hours hugging the walls of the Grand Canyon.

Donkeys and the people that ride them on this trail are my heroes.

After the hike we made our way into the lodge for a well deserved warm meal and a pot of coffee. While we enjoyed our view of the canyon, we couldn't help but smile as we watched hundreds of people running for cover as the torrential rain and hail set in.

Back on the train we ran into a bit of trouble.

But we managed to get away unscathed.

The ride home was as enchanting as the ride there.
Watching the sunset was a sweet ending to an adventurous day.
